Open-Source & Ethics

Freely shared, responsibly used.

LIVE is an open-source information and resource project. Its materials are meant to be adopted, adapted, and shared — always in ways that keep people safe.

Freely shared, responsibly used.

The LIVE Initiative intentionally separates its core, non-sectarian framework from its optional Faith and Warfighter perspectives. This ensures LIVE can be responsibly adopted by organizations that are not overtly faith-based, while still honoring the faith convictions of the project's producer. Every optional section is clearly labeled and opt-in by design.

All content follows suicide-prevention best practices. LIVE does not replace professional care — it exists to help people stay, speak, and connect to help. If you adapt these materials, we ask that you keep crisis resources visible, avoid graphic or sensationalized language, and always point people toward trained support.

The principles we build on.

Open by default

Materials are free to use, adapt, and share so that more communities can prevent suicide without cost or barrier.

Safety first

Every asset follows prevention best practices and keeps crisis resources visible and easy to reach.

Inclusive & opt-in

The core framework is non-sectarian. Faith and warfighter perspectives are clearly labeled and never imposed.

Honest about limits

LIVE complements professional care and crisis services — it never claims to replace them.
